How Omi handles your information

Effective date: May 4, 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how Omi ("Omi," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website, mobile app, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

1. Our Privacy Commitments

Omi is designed for personal reflection and decision clarity, so the information you share may feel sensitive. We aim to collect only what we need, explain our practices in plain language, use reasonable safeguards, and give you ways to access, correct, or delete your information.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

  • Information you provide. This may include your name, email address, account details, answers to guided questions, reflection entries, decisions you are considering, values, goals, preferences, feedback, and messages you send to us.
  • App and device information. This may include device type, operating system, app version, language, approximate location derived from IP address, crash logs, diagnostics, pages or screens viewed, feature interactions, referral source, and other usage events.
  • Payment and subscription information. If paid features are offered, payment processing may be handled by an app store or payment provider. We may receive limited information such as purchase status, product type, renewal status, and transaction identifiers.
  • Communications information. If you contact us, we may collect your contact information and the content of your request so we can respond and improve support.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. Our website may use cookies, pixels, local storage, or similar technologies for basic site functionality, analytics, security, and performance.

Please do not submit information about other people unless you have the right to do so. Omi is not designed for storing medical records, financial account numbers, government identifiers, or other highly sensitive records.

3. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

  • Provide, personalize, maintain, and improve the Services.
  • Create reflection prompts, summaries, patterns, insights, and other app outputs.
  • Save your progress, preferences, and account settings.
  • Respond to support requests and communicate with you about the Services.
  • Analyze usage, diagnose bugs, improve reliability, and measure performance.
  • Protect the Services, prevent fraud, enforce our terms, and comply with law.
  • Send product updates or marketing communications where permitted by law, with opt-out options.

4. AI and Reflection Data

Omi may use artificial intelligence, including third-party AI service providers, to process your inputs and generate personalized reflections or decision-support outputs. AI outputs can be incomplete, inaccurate, or not suited to your situation. They are provided for reflection only and should not replace your own judgment or advice from qualified professionals.

We may use de-identified, aggregated, or otherwise privacy-protective data to evaluate and improve the Services. We will not sell your personal reflection content. If we materially change how we use your reflection content for model training or product development, we will update this Policy and provide any notice or consent required by law.

5. How We Share Information

We may share information with:

  • Service providers. Vendors that help us host, operate, secure, analyze, support, message, and improve the Services, including cloud hosting, analytics, customer support, AI processing, and payment providers.
  • App stores and payment providers. Apple, Google, Stripe, or similar providers may process purchases or subscriptions under their own terms and privacy policies.
  • Legal, safety, and compliance recipients. We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or valid government request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, security, or the integrity of the Services.
  • Business transaction parties. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
  • With your direction or consent. We may share information when you ask us to or give us permission.

We do not sell your personal information in the ordinary meaning of that word. We also do not knowingly share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising where restricted by applicable privacy laws unless we provide required notices and choices.

6. Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, secure the Services, and maintain backups. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and why we collected it.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No online service can guarantee perfect security, so you should use a strong device passcode, keep your app updated, and contact us if you believe your account or information has been compromised.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, or an appeal of certain privacy decisions. You may also have the right to opt out of certain targeted advertising, sale, or sharing practices if they apply.

To make a request, email hi@heyomi.co. We may need to verify your request before acting on it. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in those messages.

9. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it. If a higher minimum age applies in your location, you may use the Services only if you meet that age requirement.

10. International Use

We may process and store information in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your location.

11. Health, Wellness, and Crisis Notice

Omi is a reflection and decision-support tool. It is not therapy, medical care, diagnosis, treatment, legal advice, financial advice, or crisis support. If you are in danger, may harm yourself or others, or need urgent help, call local emergency services immediately. In the United States, you can call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
